This position is ideal for a self-starter who can independently manage all aspects of their cases while providing exceptional client service.<br><br><ul><li> 5–20 hours per week</li><li> Contract - open ended</li><li> Flexible schedule, remote work (except for required in-person duties)</li><li> No minimum billed-hours requirement</li><li> Flexible schedule</li><li> Must be able to work remotely except for required in-person duties</li><li> Candidate must be relocated prior to starting work (if not already in the area)<br><br></li></ul><strong><br><br><strong>Why join us?<br><br><br></strong></strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li> Handle a broad range of criminal defense matters, including DUI/DWAI, domestic violence cases, traffic offenses, and juvenile delinquency matters</li><li> Take full ownership of cases from start to finish, including motions practice, hearings, negotiations, and trial preparation/appearances</li><li> Analyze police reports, evidence, witness statements, and procedural errors to identify suppression issues and defense angles early</li><li> Maintain consistent, clear, and empathetic communication with clients facing high stress, high impact situations</li><li> Manage fast-moving deadlines, court schedules, and time sensitive filings across El Paso County</li><li> Work with investigators, experts, and internal team members to build tailored defense strategies—no cookie cutter approaches</li><li> Prepare all cases as if they may go to trial, even when resolution is likely</li><li> Optional Additional exposure may include related matters such as protective orders, DMV hearings, or collateral impact advisement (employment/licensing/etc.)<br><br></li></ul><strong>Job Details<br><br></strong><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li> Minimum 3 years of criminal defense experience, including courtroom advocacy and strong working knowledge of Texas criminal procedures and local court rules</li><li> Experience handling DUI, domestic violence, traffic, and/or juvenile matters</li><li> Must reside within reasonable travel distance of El Paso County courthouses and be available for required in person hearings</li><li> Strong ability to review and challenge evidence (e.g., stops, field sobriety tests, chemical tests, body cam footage)</li><li> Familiarity with Clio legal software and Math4Law is a plus*</li><li> Licensed attorney in good standing with NO disciplinary history in ANY state.<br><br></li></ul>Interested in hearing more?
