Staff Accountant - Carrollton - On-Site (70k-75k + Bonus)

<p>LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a rapidly growing, privately backed organization operating within the construction and project-based services sector. This company is well-established, financially stable, and expanding across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting and financial reporting, exposure to project or job-cost accounting, and the ability to collaborate closely with both corporate finance and operational teams in a fast-paced environment. This is a fully onsite role based in North Dallas and offers meaningful visibility, hands-on responsibility, and long-term growth potential within a scaling finance organization.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Support general ledger accounting and ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes</li><li>Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP</li><li>Maintain chart of accounts and ensure consistency across multiple entities and business units</li><li>Prepare and analyze Percentage of Completion (POC) and Work in Progress (WIP) reports for active projects</li><li>Assist with intercompany accounting, consolidations, and eliminations</li><li>Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate expense coding and financial data integrity</li><li>Support branch-level accounting activities in coordination with corporate accounting</li><li>Assist with monthly financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders</li><li>Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the finance team</li><li>Assist with annual audits and tax filings, coordinating with external auditors and advisors</li><li>Ensure compliance with state regulations, including sales and use tax reporting</li><li>Participate in physical inventory counts and related reconciliations during quarter-end processes</li><li>Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy</li><li>Support ERP system implementation and optimization efforts across multiple locations</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance</li><li>3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; construction or project-based industry experience preferred</li><li>Combination of public accounting and industry experience a plus</li><li>CPA designation or CPA-eligible strongly preferred</li><li>Master’s degree (MBA or Accounting) preferred</li><li>Strong technical knowledge of GAAP</li><li>Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and WIP reporting strongly preferred</li><li>Proficiency with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience a plus</li><li>Advanced Excel skills</li><li>Prior external audit experience preferred</li><li>Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills</li><li>Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities</li><li>Self-motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment</li><li>Passion for process improvement and operational excellence</li></ul>
