Overview

We are seeking a highly versatile and customer-facing Technology Support Specialist to join our team at the Microsoft Technology Center in Houston. This role requires a "Swiss army knife" professional who is comfortable working across a wide variety of technology platforms, troubleshooting in real time, and engaging directly with clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to represent our team effectively in front of clients.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary onsite technical support resource for clients setting up booths, stalls, and events showcasing the latest technologies. Provide hands-on support for a wide range of devices and systems, from 3D printers to smart appliances to AV equipment. Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues quickly and effectively to ensure seamless client experiences. Assist with setup, configuration, and integration of technology for client demonstrations and events. Support presentations and live demos by proactively addressing AV and technical challenges. Collaborate closely with clients, ensuring their technology needs are addressed with professionalism, patience, and efficiency. Act as a trusted partner and subject-matter expert, representing the Microsoft Technology Center with exceptional customer service. Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently interface with clients in a professional environment. Demonstrated customer-facing experience with a track record of building trust and rapport. Hands-on technical expertise across a variety of devices, systems, and platforms (e.g., consumer electronics, IoT devices, AV systems). Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, and manage multiple technical requests simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in event support, trade shows, or technology showcase environments. Familiarity with AV systems, networking fundamentals, and device integration. Prior experience supporting consumer technology or enterprise client demos.
